man child walks to work

Today I decided to be late for work, I didn't get up late, I didn't get held up, I made the decision to be late.

I was walking to work and as per usual people were standing on the escalators at City Place, this enrages me deeply every time because if people would just pick one side of the escalator to stand on there would be enough room for others (who may be in a rush) to walk by. My frustration was only compounded by the fact that all through the walkways people seemed only capable of walking in groups of four or five, shoulder to shoulder, once again blocking my way. It was at this point that I began thinking about untying my shoelaces and using them to strangle the 40 something professional slow-waker in front of me. Just then it hit me, what the hell am I rushing for, a stupid meeting? Screw that I'm taking my sweet ass time.

I came across an old Greek man busking, he was playing some kind of mandolin and he was good, so I hung out there for a minute or two. Thats when I realized, if I can leave behind the thought of the tortures I'm gonna undergo through the day then my morning walks to work become one of the best parts of my day. The day has just started and this is the last free moment I have before I'm barricaded in my office, so I should do my best to enjoy it. As such I decided to lace up my shoe and head to the underground mall in search of the perfect cookie.

You're going to love Vancouver. Our escalators are practically german in their efficiency. Even after only a few months, when I encounter someone standing on the left hand side I bitterly think "Tourist!" to myself.
